Mijas Village is one of the jewels of the Costa del Sol.It nestles comfortably in the mountainside at 428mts above sea level with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Coast enjoying excellent climate all year round.
Mijas Village is a superb choice for a holiday as it still retains the old Spanish local charm.Wander through the narrow cobbled streets of this typical White Andalucian Village, take in a tapa or two at one of the numerous bars on offer, or for nice home-made food we can recommend Canuelo Restaurant where you will be very well looked after and great English is Spoken by its owners or why not try your Spanish out?
After lunch take in some of the numerous sites that the Village has to offer, the most historical one being the Chapel of the Virgin of the Rock, the Bullring which is of oval shape and one of the few remaining in Spain, and lets not forget the famous Mijas donkey-drawn taxis, not too far form the Famous Mijas Town Hall and its Tourist information centre.
If you like walking Mijas is the perfect place for walks as there are numerous paths all around us and why not join in on a walk with the local Town Hall guided walks whilst here.
This charming village has winding roads, quaint alleyways and plenty to entertain visitors.
There are many excellent restaurants and local bars on the apartments doorstep. In the centre of the village there are botanical gardens, and many small shops with gifts made by local artisans. The village is ideal for taking an early stroll before dinner. Favourite restaurants are, Alcazaba, Mirlo Blanco, Alarcon and just a few minutes down the road is the famous Valparaiso Restaurant for that special night.
The nearest beach is Fuengirola ( 8km) and you can reach it by bus, a 10 minute bus ride.
There is no need to hire a car unless you want to explore the rolling countryside,coastline and mountains more widely. Mijas is the perfect focal point for exploring coastline and inland Andalucia such as Sevilla,Cordoba Granada,Ronda and many more.
